When I login I see "Please purchase / redeem Elite Dangerous to continue"

The "Please purchase/redeem Elite Dangerous to continue" message will appear when the launcher does not detect Elite Dangerous base game access.

If you have purchased Elite Dangerous and/or Horizons Season Pass via Steam this is likely because Steam Log In has not been utilised. If you suspect this is the case, please follow these steps:

Step 1. Log out of the launcher

Run the Elite Dangerous base game (not Horizons) in Steam to load the launcher, select the Options tab then Log Out Machine.


Step 2. Log back in

  • If you purchased the game content you are trying to access via Steam after 25th April 2019, select Steam Log In (red arrow shown below).
  • If you purchased the game content trying to be accessed before 25th April 2019, select Log In (blue arrow shown below).

The launcher problem that you are experiencing should now be resolved.
